Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year!

2017 is the Year of the Rooster, or to be more specific, year of the Fire Rooster. Did you know that in Chinese Astrology, if you share the astrological sign of the Rooster, this will be an unlucky year for you? I would have assumed you would be blessed with luck, it being “your” year. Apparently, that’s not the case. Typical characteristics of those born in the Year of the Rooster are: kind, hard-working, arrogant and courageous.

Are you a Rooster? Birth years include: 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017 and 2029.

The Parade will feature the traditional Chinese Dragon dance, among other floats, music and dancing. The parade begins at 1PM – 2:30PM at Archer and Wentworth Avenues.
