Things To Do In Chicago This Weekend

As the prolific lyrics of Rebecca Black said, “It’s Friday, Friday / Gotta get down on Friday / Everybody’s lookin’ forward to the weekend…” And we certainly do have things to look forward to this weekend.

  • Christmas is here – or at least at Macy’s it is! On Saturday,  at 12:00 PM, the 107th Annual Great Tree Lighting ceremony will take place at Macy’s on N. State Street. Featuring a giant tree that has 3,000 beautiful ornaments, and is all strung up with lights, activities for the kids, plus a performance by American Idol Season 9 winner, Lee DeWyze, this is an afternoon that will certainly get you into the holiday spirit.Macy's Christmas Tree Lighting
  •  Looking to get in some exercise and benefit cancer research at the same time? Chicago’s Perfect 10 is the thing for you! Choose between running a 10k, or 10 miles, starting at the Navy Pier.
  • If you’re trying to get away from all of the chaos of downtown Chicago, the Horeshoe Casino is only 20-minutes away. This weekend is the 3rd annual Mariachi and Tequila Festival. A little culture, a little music, a little drink – sounds like a party not to miss out on.
  • After a day of bustling around town, enjoying the sights, and all of the fabulous things Chicago offers, sometimes it’s needed to sit down, relax, and have a good laugh. The Arie Crown Theater has you covered with the Chi-Town Laugh-A-Thon Comedy Tour! This is sure to be a hilarious night.
